A global manufacturer with multiple UK operations is currently recruiting a Design

Engineer. You will be responsible for designing a range of components and tooling inline with customer requirements and quality expectations and identifying process improvement.

Commutable from: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Motherwell, Falkirk, Bathgate, Dunfermline, Perth, Sterling.

Salary: £ 33,000 - £ 40,000 p.a. + benefits

Suitable for: Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Lead Engineer, Senior Design Engineer.

The Role

Design Components To Meet Customer Requirements Within Company Capabilities.

Design tool and die requirements to customer requirements.

Ensure manufacturing processes meet agreed standards.

Maintain IT record systems within department.

Make necessary modifications to meet customer requirements.

Produce all necessary drawings and documentation to effectively allow customer components, tools and dies to be manufactured.

Recommend and implement system modifications as... required.

Assemble working manuals/records to allow forging operations to be carried out.

Responsible for design of new types of tooling to meet complex component manufacture and quality standards.

Upgrade and widen scope of computer systems within engineering department.

Carry out any other duties as directed by the management team.

The Person

At least 2 years’ experience of working within a relevant design role gained in an Engineering environment.

Degree qualified in Mechanical or Design Engineering.

Familiarity with the properties of metals and basic metallurgy.

Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD Software (preferably Creo) and Simulation.

Excellent IT skills to include Mini Tab.
