What you will be doing

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under moderate supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, the Accountant I on the project accounting team is responsible for reviewing and maintaining accounts receivable billing summaries, invoice collection communications, preparation of revenue adjustments and journal entries in multiple currencies, preparing ad hoc project accounting reports, and preparation of specified accounting records for month-end closing and analysis.
Analyze monthly project-level financial reports, calculate and enter revenue adjustments and expense postings to the project accounting system for various project accounts
Responsible for project work breakdown structure maintenance in the project accounting system
Review accounts receivable invoices for completion and accuracy and post them to the project accounting system
Lead accounts receivable collection efforts
Researchand resolve internal and external customer inquiries; may interact directly with customers if necessary
Calculate and apply foreign currency related adjustments and conversions on global shared project billings and expenses
Review and process time transfer transactions from Project Manager(s)
Analyze and audit consulting projects at the closure stage for accuracy and completeness; work directly with Project Manager(s) to resolve discrepancies Record transactions to journals and general ledger
Prepare trend analysis and other special analysis as required Generate ad hoc accounting reports as needed

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences, or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor's Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires one (1) to two (2) years of directly related and progressively responsible experience.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Intermediate-level Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
Knowledge of general accounting principles
Strong interpersonal skills
