Job Description

OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified and motivated Engineer Mining who will be responsible for identifying and scoping Continuous Improvement projects within the Didipio Mine to create a positive outcome for the operation through successful delivery and post-project measuring of Continuous Improvement projects. Responsible also for ensuring documentation is checked and maintained as required by the Company, department and the government.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
• Assist the Mining department in the development of their respective CI projects and the development of specific business cases
• Assist the CI project scoping and selection process resulting in a final CI project priority classification matrix inclusive of all projects across the mine
• Ensure that the final list of CI projects are based on technical and economic fundamentals and each project represents the best business case fundamentals as per the selection process
• Identify improvement opportunities, trends, inconsistencies, or irregularities within data or operational practices and communicate findings with the CI team as well as relevant section leader/s
• Assist the CI Senior Mining Engineer with project budgeting and development of project ranking within the overall site CI process and project cost reporting in relation to yearly budgets and quarterly forecasts
• Monitoring of project implementation and once completed carry out post-project reviews and monitoring to measure actual outcomes
• Assist the CI Senior Mining Engineer with overall project reporting on CI active projects and management of the Project Life Cycle with reporting against milestones, schedules, and costs per project
• Ensure documents are accurate, well-maintained and organized within the CI file system

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering
• 4 years of experience in an underground mining environment
• Computers and database management skills
• With experience in Radio systems
• With a valid Drivers Professional license
• Drive for continuous improvement and innovation
