Systems Administrator Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Local What You'll Get to Do * Develop, implement, and maintain secure system architectures to protect critical assets.
• Develop and implement security protocols, standards, policies, procedures... and tools to ensure that all systems are secure.
• Monitor network traffic to detect any malicious activities or system intrusions.
• Establish and maintain user accounts, set up access privileges, and manage passwords while ensuring compliance with security requirements.
• Install software patches and updates in order to increase system security by addressing vulnerability issues.
• Configure firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS) and other complex network components for optimal performance and protection of IT assets.
• Analyze system logs of various information systems to identify any potential security threats or anomalies in the networked environment.
• Research emerging threats on the internet by staying abreast of current trends in cyber security to ensure preparedness against malicious activities or attacks from outside sources.
• Monitor system performance and diagnose server, software or hardware issues.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery plans to mitigate risks of data loss.
• Manage the deployment and maintenance of antivirus/anti-malware solutions for networked computers and other connected devices.
• Analyze firewall logs in order to detect suspicious traffic patterns.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and implement effective security solutions.
• Monitor vulnerability scans and patch management systems in order to detect any unexpected changes in the system.
• Prepare incident reports following security incidents that include detailed descriptions of network assets affected, information about perpetrators, etc.
• Report on status of security measures taken and make recommendations for further improvement.
• Provide training and guidance to other employees on cyber security best practices. You'll Bring These Qualifications * Minimum of an active Secret clearance
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• BA/BS or equivalent years of experience
• Extensive knowledge of security engineering principles, technologies, processes, and tools to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems.
• Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining secure system architectures.
• Experience monitoring network traffic to detect any malicious activities or system intrusions.
• Experience installing software patches and updates, and configuring firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS) and other complex network components, and monitoring vulnerability scans, patching management systems, and preparing incident reports.
