Lead Asset Manager, Hotels
Who we're looking for
Schroders Capital Real Estate Hotels team has continued to develop strong relationships with international institutional investors and Private Equity firms, and have access to substantial reserves of capital to deploy in the short, medium and long term.
To support the Hotels Team in this, Schroders Capital Real Estate Hotels is looking to hire a Lead Asset Manager on a permanent basis in Paris.

The team
The Schroders Capital Hotels team comprises c.40 professionals with a wide range of expertise in hotel... investment and asset management. The team is currently predominantly based in offices in Paris and London. The team is organised into teams who work closely together: the Investment Team, the Asset Management Team and the Finance/Control Team.
• The Investment Team is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, acquisitions, financings, sales, corporate restructuring, tax structuring, fund-raising, asset management of leased assets and ad hoc projects/new ideas.
• The Asset Management Team is responsible for developing and implementing the business plan and takes over day-to-day responsibility for the acquisition post-closings particularly working closely with the General Managers and onsite team in the hotels.
• The Financing/Controlling Team is responsible for all cash transfers, accounting and client reporting.
Given the diverse skills required to acquire, improve and sell these assets, the team is comprised of professionals who each bring a different area of expertise to the team. What you'll do
• Monitor the Assets for which you will be responsible:
• In interaction with the management of the assets under your responsibility: analyse and challenge management indicators, business plans, management reports, competition figures, in order to determine the areas for improvement / value creation and define action plans for each hotel under management contract;
• In interaction with management control and internal audit teams: prepare and finalise management reports on behalf of the Company's co-investor;
• Participate in the implementation of action plans (selection and management of service providers, validation of budgets, cash flow control, etc.);
• Play an active role in managing the relationship with hotel groups, particularly with regard to issues of commercial strategy and cost management;
• Define, set up, manage and carry out complex projects related to the assets for which you will be responsible:
• Participate, in interaction with the development team and the hotel chains involved, in defining programs to transform existing assets in order to maximise their value (preliminary analyses, definition of lines of thought, work on projections, etc.);
• Orchestrate the implementation of these transformation programs within the schedule and budget. Through your action as project owner and in collaboration with the Real Estate team, you will coordinate the work and interactions between a multitude of participants (depending on the progress of the project: the hotel manager, co-investors, banks if necessary, designers, AMOs, companies etc.) to ensure that the project is completed on time and within the budget that you will have helped to define.
Participate in the Company's future projects, particularly during the acquisition phase.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
• Entrepreneurial mind and highly ambitious with excellent academic credentials;
• 3-5 years of Management in the hotel industry or not;
• Strong interest and/or previous experience in hospitality / lodging sector;
• Highly analytical with excellent excel skills specific to financial modeling and P&L analysis;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a very good aptitude to work with Word and Powerpoint;
• Attention to detail and structured thinking and pro-active with problem solving;
• Able to present information clearly and concisely with an ability to manage his time to meet deadlines and deliver on business goals;
• Personable and able to quickly build effective relationships with a variety of colleagues, partners and service providers;
• Excellent English language skills; proficiency with another European language as desired but not required.
