Job Description:
ALANTRA is offering an exciting new position for a legal intern in our Madrid headquarters with excellent career advancement prospects in a dynamic, international, and collaborative environment within a multinational group.
You will be an integral part of our legal department, participating in both day-to-day meetings and matters as well as key initiatives and projects of the Alantra group, whilst also working closely with key stakeholders in the business and colleagues across Alantra's wider corporate services and business teams.
Alantra is looking for a self-motivated intern with a forward-thinking perspective, eager to learn, with ability to work in a fast-paced and international environment, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and rigorous attention to detail and process.
The candidate will support and develop the Alantra Group national and international entities in all related, M&A, corporate and commercial legal matters, which may comprise matter such as:
• Providing legal and regulatory advice to the corporate development, corporate finance, investment banking, and asset management divisions
• Review and preparation of all types of corporate and commercial agreements such as: non-disclosure agreements, engagement letters, advisory and collaboration agreements, financial, partnerships, shareholders' agreements, share purchase agreements and any type of joint ventures.
• Drafting and preparation of corporate minutes and relevant legal documentation regarding corporate governance of the Alantra Group entities.
• Coordination of with counterparties, whether internal (other departments and areas of the group) and external for transaction or project specific matters
• Participation as in house legal counsel in corporate and M&A transactions and ad-hoc projects, including regulatory projects, involving the Alantra Group national and international entities
• Preparation of regulatory filings regarding the securities market and asset management with national (i.e. CNMV) and international supervisory authorities, including for instance, the incorporation of investment vehicles or regulated asset managers
• Developing template legal documents and other materials to enable the legal team to operate as effectively and efficiently as possible
• Liaise with outside legal counsel on region-specific engagements
• Complement and support the corporate compliance department for project specific matters
• Participate in digitalization and innovation projects of the Legal Department
• Support members of the Legal Department in any civil, corporate law and regulatory matters
• Maintain an up-to-date awareness of regulatory and legal topics and industry trends relating to legal matters
Requirements:
• Enrolled in a Law Degree and/or the mandatory LLM to become a qualified lawyer in Spain.
• Available to complete the 6 months mandatory internship to become a qualified lawyer in Spain in the Alantra Group.
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills in Spanish and English. Other languages will be highly valued
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Applicants must have strong interest in investment banking and asset management businesses
• Demonstrated ability partnering with international colleagues in different jurisdictions – experience collaborating with senior stakeholders
• Committed, rigorously detail-oriented, with a good attitude and ability to show initiative at work and contribute with your own ideas
• Desire to work as part of a global team in a fast-paced environment. Hands-on, proactive, and enthusiastic, with demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with international colleagues
