The primary responsibility of the Technical Writer is to work with the business to review, redesign, streamline and rewrite complex communications automatically generated by the the departments Practitioner Registration Platform and sent to building, plumbing and trades practitioners. The Portfolio Management Office (PMO) reports into the Building System Technology (BST) division. The BST is a division within the department and is responsible for the delivery of a complex digital transformation uplift across the organization... The digital transformation uplift will renew and consolidate systems and develop a capability for the department to use data surveillance and analytics.
Key Accountabilities
• Review existing communication templates, sent to Building Practitioners from Salesforce using Nintex Drawloop, a document generation tool.
• Redesign and reformat communications so information is easy to use and understand with usability at the forefront to reduce calls and errors through misunderstanding.
• Streamline communication templates if possible, considering system requirements and constraints.
• Rewrite communications using information mapping techniques to ensure practitioners are given clear, concise information that they need to know when they need to know it.
• Redesign the builder communications as a standard set of templates so they can be extended to plumbing and trades practitioners when associated systems are migrated to Salesforce.
Key Selection criteria
Knowledge and skills
• Experience in technical writing / information mapping experience.
• Experience with system generated communications.
• Ability to research, gather and verify the information required for communication to practitioners.
• Engage and manage stakeholders in a complex environment.
• Organise and facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders, business analysts and required subject matter experts.
• Ability to present information to building practitioners in clear concise format and text that is easy to understand.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent writing and grammatical skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and to work independently.
• Think strategically as to how the communications can be used by plumbing and trades practitioners in the future.
• A 'can do' attitude and a person who enjoys driving change across a business.
• Ability to work in an Agile team environment.
• Ability to be pro-active, professional, customer-focused, organised and self-managed to deliver a consistently high level of output and service in a deadline and fast-paced, driven environment.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
• Ability to remain driven, dynamic, and committed and drive positive outcomes across an organization.
Qualifications
• A relevant qualification technical writing or instructional design is preferred.
