Korowa Anglican Girls’ School is seeking a Management Accountant, preferably with experience in a school environment, to oversee the management accounting and internal financial controls of our school. Your expertise in budgeting, financial analysis and forecasts will be pivotal in supporting the continued financial ability of our School, enabling us to continue our tradition of providing a quality education for girls’.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will also be responsible for delivering the finance projects associated with getting the current finance function to a mature state.

Key responsibilities include:
• Support the Finance Manager to create... an effective finance function by driving the completion of the finance projects associated with a mature function
• Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and subsidiary systems
• Create and deliver a month-end routine, including preparing reports, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Develop and prepare monthly and ad-hoc management and board reports
• Review, analyse and communicate the financial impact of business decisions/initiatives across the School, incorporating impacts into forecasts and future budgets, as appropriate
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes
• Prepare financial statements, regulatory submissions and compliance reporting
• Manage cash projections and cash flows

The successful applicant will demonstrate:
• A commitment to the School’s Values; Courage, Respect, Integrity and Service
• Strong technical skills, particularly in relation to Australian Accounting Standards
• Systems experience in at least a 2nd tier ERP, ideally Synergetic
• The ability to analyse information, recommend and implement solutions to accounting and finance matters
• 3-5 years experience working as a Management Accountant, or similar role, preferably in a school environment
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
• CPA/CA qualified or working towards
• A high degree of confidentiality and discretion
• Meticulous attention to detail
• A proficiency in the use of digital technologies, in particular Excel for performing high level analysis of financial data
• A willingness to work collaboratively with key stakeholders, as well as working autonomously as required
• A positive, can-do attitude and approach to situations
