Dexerto is looking for a talented full-time Senior Staff Writer who can work from their home in the Australia or New Zealand. They will work five days per week (including weekends), covering a mixture of Gaming, Entertainment, and Esports.

You should be a versatile writer who is able to source and write compelling stories about a variety of subjects, such as esports, big gaming franchises, and online culture – including streamers, YouTubers, TikTok, and Instagram personalities. Everything that Dexerto is known for.

Whilst you won’t be expected to know everything about every single esport, game, or streamer, we are looking for someone who has a broad knowledge, but can also specialize in a few areas. Be sure to mention all of these in your cover letter!

Experience of writing for a publication is essential as we are looking for someone who can lead the small team at weekends.

Some knowledge of SEO and social media is also desirable, as well as the ability to create feature images... for your stories.
Requirements
• Understanding and knowledge of esports, gaming, and online culture
• A snappy and compelling writing style
• Able to write to short deadlines under pressure
• Have a keen attention to detail – can spot grammatical errors and fact check.
• Creative ability – able think of feature ideas and suggest news stories that will resonate with our audience
• Able to act independently on writing tasks
• SEO knowledge desirable but not essential
• Own computing equipment that can run Photoshop and be able to use it competently
• Experience with content management systems is desirable
• Able to work full-time hours (40) without other education or job commitments
