Role Overview

The product owner is responsible for maximizing the product's value by creating and managing the product backlog. In addition, this person creates user stories for the development team and communicates the voice of the customer in the Scrum process.

Product Overview

We have three different products in the live environment. Our businesses have a web and a mobile application that allows them to manage to post shifts and track hourly workers. For our Upshifters, we have a web and mobile application that allows them to find flexible work and get paid daily! For internal employees, we have a web platform for onboarding & payroll management, and... other day-to-day operations. We have other cooking products in the line!

Job Responsibilities at Upshift
• You’ll translate product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements
• into properly scoped and actionable user stories and acceptance test criteria;
• You’ll provide feedback on the validated roadmap to the product manager;
• You’ll construct and prioritize production processes to ensure every piece of work is aligned with the product roadmap (and the highest priority items in the backlog);
• You’ll facilitate all agile scrum meetings to ensure that development work is aligned with the roadmap set by the product manager;
• You’ll serve as the voice of the customer for the development team, particularly if and when questions arise;
• You’ll develop and implement processes that unlock development teams to understand what they’re working on next and why continually;
• You’ll ensure the backlog is transparent, visible, and understood by all stakeholders.
• You’ll be consistently joining technology teams on backlog grooming activities and expected to participate in technical discussions confidently.
