Job Purpose As part of the Global Corporate Technology Team but based within the European Technology region you will support the Actuarial process and system needs of the European business entities leveraging the Global Technology services established by the global IFRS 17 programme. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects, develop your expertise and pursue leadership, within and outside of your role. You will work collaboratively with business leaders, senior architects, and other developers to design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions at regular intervals. In this role you will work collaboratively with actuaries and accountants to understand valuation and accounting process requirements and help design, develop, and deploy solution enhancements and configuration changes at regular intervals. You will liaise closely with the Global Corporate Technology Analysts, other IT roles and local entities to ensure end to end service is sustained and change is managed. Key Accountabilities - Understand end-end valuation and accounting business processes and how these processes are enabled by technology components. - Respond to issues and queries from stakeholders, provide short-term resolutions and work with relevant technology partners for long term remediation in a timely manner. - Work alongside sponsors, project managers, and architects to create and execute project plans. - Translate conceptual user requirements into software requirements. - Manage the design, development, and implementation of software requirements. - Produce functional and technical designs for developers and/or end users. - Ensures configurations meet business requirements and enterprise-level policy guidance (e.g., architecture, security, risk) and ensures the translation of those processes, needs and requirements into related artifacts and documentation - Oversee and mentor junior resources on the team. - Learn and be exposed to bespoke actuarial systems and the suite of corporate SAP technologies. Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills - University or College education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience - Good understanding in financial accounting and reporting practicesan understanding of Insurance Actuarial process is not mandatory but would be highly beneficial. - Experience articulating functionality of systems to business and IT teams at various levels. - Experience translating business needs into clear designs and produce high-quality builds. - Good understanding of data integration requirements and design, for inbound/outbound integrations. - Experience performing unit and functional testing of designs. - Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving abilities. - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to maintain and enhance collab
