The Opportunity
The Credit Risk... Specialist is a key role within the Underwriting team of ANZ Worldline, reporting into the Head of Underwriting, KYC & AML. The Underwriting team is part of the First Line Risk & Compliance (1LRC) team and is responsible for ensuring Credit Risk is effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities
• Be a Subject Matter Expert on Worldline’s Merchant Underwriting Policies and Procedures.
• Identify, investigate, assess and report on credit risk matters making sure that it complies with Worldline Merchant Underwriting Policies and Procedures.
• Determine the creditworthiness and credit risk profile of new and existing merchants, thereby preventing the company from financial loss.
• Handling daily operations in accordance with organisational policies and procedures within an agreed SLA.
• Perform periodic reviews on existing merchants to ensure there is no change in their credit risk exposure.
• Assure the completeness and correctness of the client documentation as well as preparation for review and by various domestic and international credit risk committees.
• Present assessment recommendations to the relevant committees.
• Provide support and guidance as required by the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) team on credit risk, including financial analysis.
• Support the Head of Underwriting, KYC & AML in ensuring that all credit risk systems, processes and procedural level documentation is created and maintained.
• Support the Head of Underwriting, KYC & AML in ensuring that all credit risk systems, processes and procedures are continuously reviewed and optimised.
• Building the organisational awareness in terms of credit and wider risk management.
• Work collaboratively with the Sales organisation to ensure that the end-to-end onboarding process of customers is optimised, while managing credit risk within acceptable levels.
Experience
• 5+ years within the credit risk environment.
• 3+ years in payments or technology driven organisation.
• Experience in a merchant acquiring organisation.
Competencies & Knowledge
• Excellent knowledge of financial statement assessment, including ratio analysis.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• Influencing and negotiation skills.
• Communication and presentation skills.
• Commercial awareness and industry knowledge.
• Results driven and ability to work under pressure.
• Advanced knowledge of Office products, including Powerpoint and Excel.
• Multicultural and flexible mindset with the ability to multi-task and work in an international environment.
• Some knowledge of Customer Due Diligence and Fraud Risk, within a merchant acquiring context would be beneficial.
Education
• Bachelors Degree (Commerce, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or equivalent).
• Industry Certification (AICM, etc).
