Due to the continued growth of our school, we have a part-time opportunity for an experienced Secondary School German Language Acquisition Teacher at our South East campus.

You are an innovative and creative German Teacher, ideally with a strong understanding of the MYP. You can inspire and stimulate students’ learning skills. You are able to cater for students with many different social, emotional, and educational needs, from a variety of different cultural backgrounds and countries.

You are committed to the school’s mission to provide high-quality community-based international learning in the form of... the IB programme. You are able and willing to help create and implement school policy, to contribute to a close school community and work as part of a dynamic and hardworking team.

Working at AICS means working at an internationally oriented educational institution with an open work culture. In addition, AICS offers:
• Nice gross monthly salary: min. € 3,001.- | max. € 4,573 (scale LB CAO-VO) full-time base;
• End-of-year bonus of 8.33%;
• Holiday payment of 8%;
• More than 53 vacation days full-time based;

AICS offers a year contract from 1 August 2023 until 1 August 2024 for 0,6 FTE (3 days per week).

You need to have
As a German Language Acquisition Teacher you need to have:
• a teaching degree for secondary school education to teach in the Netherlands;
• at least two years’ teaching experience - experience in the MYP programme is preferred;
• excellent knowledge and experience of different teaching and educational methodologies;
• excellent command of the English language and general communication skills;
• understanding and knowledge of intercultural competences and different cultural backgrounds.

Furthermore, (ideally) you have an understanding of the IB, you are flexible, resilient, open to new ideas, have a collaborative mindset and a good sense of humour.

The AICS is a Dutch International Primary and Secondary School. Our vision statement is to be a community where learning is at the heart of everything we do. The mission of the AICS is to facilitate high quality, accessible, community-based international learning for students of all nationalities living in The Netherlands. We are one of 40 schools worldwide and the only school in the Netherlands that offers the full IB continuum (IB PYP, MYP, DP, and CP).
