Automated Testing Engineer

As an Automated Testing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to help ensure the integrity of data and the accuracy of reporting. Implementing a sound system without defects will promote policies that improve the health of our nation. You will be responsible for leading the quality assurance technical tasks on various project teams. You will serve as a mentor and... resource to less experienced team members.

The primary time zone is Eastern. Typical team meetings will take place between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm ET. There is flexibility in establishing a regular work schedule.

In this role, you will:
• Develop test plans, cases, and summaries.
• Perform integrated software testing, using quality assurance (QA) methodologies, and identifies issues.
• Collaborate with developers to resolve issues and implement solutions.
• Manage testing resources throughout the testing cycle of an assigned project.
• Serve as technical resource and liaison to team members and developers.
• Ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Assist in the maintenance of QA lab equipment and test environments.
• Ensure equipment is accessible when needed.
• Provide assistance in developing/updating product documentation and training materials for end users.
• May assist in or facilitate end-user training for internal team members and external customers.
• Assist in implementing a continuous testing architecture using CI/CD tools to orchestrate many different types of software testing including functional, security, accessibility, and performance.
• Investigate and promote technical and process advancements to improve earlier testing, testing automation, and test reporting.
• Create and execute SQL queries to ensure data validation pipelines work as expected.
What You'll Need:
• 4 yr. degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field and/or equivalent training and/or experience.
• 5 years of experience in a formal software testing environment, including 2 years as a test lead.
• Demonstrated experience using scripting automated testing software including web-based user interface.
• Demonstrated knowledge of QA methodologies, HTML, JavaScript, XML, Ruby/Cucumber, Selenium/Watir, Sauce Labs, and MySQL/PostgreSQL/NoSQL.
• Experience with automated test tools for functional, load, and stress testing are required. Candidate should be familiar with TestRail, Jira, Confluence, and GitHub and executing automation testing in an Agile framework for Web and RESTful API-based systems.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary.
• Demonstrated time management skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with Data Build Tool preferred.
• Experience working in the healthcare industry preferred.
• Federal Government contracting work experience preferred.
• Because of the nature and immediacy of the work, the ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance is essential.
• 10% local and overnight travel.
