Job Description
The Portfolio Management Group (PMG) supports the Investment team in the implementation of portfolio strategy across client accounts. The team is based in Nashville, New York, London, Sydney, Shanghai and oversees the management of all accounts investing in AB’s equity services. Portfolio Implementation Associates initiate equity and currency trades, interacting closely with Portfolio Managers and Traders, and monitor the portfolios on an ongoing basis. Portfolio Implementation Associates develop a deep understanding of AB’s investment products and operational policies and procedures. This position has independent career path, is not heading to become a portfolio manager.
Specific responsibilities may include:
• Implement investment decisions for designated funds
• Day to day monitor of portfolio positioning, trade executions, cash management, corporate actions, and compliance with fund guidelines.
• Support the investment team to ensure the daily operation in... compliance with regulatory requirement
• Identify and report potential investment operational risks on a timely basis
• Liaise with other teams internally, including Investment Management, Research, Legal and Compliance, Risk, Sales and Marketing, Trading, and Operations.
• Facilitate external counterparty onboarding and related accounts opening/closing
• Handle Investment Operations queries across China onshore products from both internal and external partners.
• Assist in equity investment research reports production and portfolio analysis
• Project based initiatives related to process improvement and implementing new strategies.
Job Qualifications
Successful candidates have the following attributes:
• Holder of an AMAC Practitioner License (or must acquire within first 3 months).
• Familiar with local regulation and compliance requirements.
• An interest in the financial markets and equity portfolio management.
• Detail-oriented with strong quantitative and analytical skills that can be leveraged to evaluate portfolios.
• The ability to prioritize, multitask and work effectively with a team in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with teams throughout the organization.
• An ability to think holistically, understand end-to-end processes, and reconsider the status quo.
• A proactive and inquisitive approach toward new challenges and problem-solving.
• Bachelor/Master degree in finance related field
• 3+ years of experience in middle office or trading within local asset management industry.
• Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese
• Experience with coding (i.e. Python, SQL, VBA) or visualization tools like PowerBI(DAX) a plus
