Job Summary
This position is responsible for fulfilling all requirements to keep the pharmacy registered with the state board of pharmacy and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration. Provides patient centered, outcome oriented pharmacy practice by working with patients and Health Services clinicians to promote good health and prevent disease. This position is off approximately 5 - 10 weeks/yearly without pay.
Responsibilities
• Fill and dispense prescription drugs and over the counter medications to patients following Board of Pharmacy, DEA and Health Services policies and procedures. Provide patient centered, outcome oriented pharmacy practice by working with patients and Health Services clinicians to promote good health and prevent disease. Order and maintain stock in filing and dispensing prescription and over the counter medications used by the pharmacy with the defined Health Services Pharmacy budget. Assist students with their selection of non-prescription/over-the-counter medications. Counsel students as to the contraindications, adverse reactions, and precautions of their medications.
• Fulfill all requirements to keep the pharmacy registered with the State Board of Pharmacy and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration. Participates in the evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technologies and software enhancements to further advance the pharmacy. Oversee documentation of all medication transactions and activity, including onsite billing using Health Services information systems.
• Collaborate with the physicians, nurse practitioners and patients as needed to establish therapeutic objectives; recommend and advise on appropriate drug entities, dosages and dosage schedules; assist in selecting dosage forms, routes and methods. Serve as an active member of the Health Services Leadership Team in support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the University, the Student Affairs Division, Auxiliary Services and Health Services.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacology from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
Pharmacy License through the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy.
Required Experience
2-4 years of pharmacy experience
Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, uses, side effects, patient counseling, and drug inventory management.
Knowledge and experience with pharmacy information system software.

Proposed Salary
$85,124.00, annually, paid on a monthly basis.
