Mō te tūranga | About the Role

As a Senior Risk Analyst in our Risk Analytics function you will be a key member of a high profile and

well respected team. You will be working with advanced cloud based SAS technology in a fast

paced environment to deliver on key risk reporting outcomes for Westpac NZ.
• Lead the delivery of monthly production Provisioning and Risk Weighted Asset positions.
• Create and enhance risk management reports to understand risk exposures and track trends.
• Monitor performance across all customer lifecycle stages, identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Perform data analysis to support risk management initiatives and validate hypotheses.
• Document workflows, share ideas and implement improvements to drive progress across the team.
• Collaborate with Risk Analytics colleagues and other Westpac departments (e.g., Product Management, Customer Insights, Collections and Fraud) to identify and implement improvements.
• Team lead duties relating to... work allocation, performance reviews, leave management, wellness and wellbeing for staff within the Risk Measurement team.
• Support Management with work allocation, performance reviews, leave management, for staff within the Risk Measurement team.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
• Background in data manipulation and report building
• Experience with a programming language, such as SAS or SQL
• Background in Credit Risk, Finance or in a similar area
• Experience in exploratory numerical analysis
• Experience using a data visualisation tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or SAS Visual Analytics
• Tertiary degree focused on a numerate discipline (preferred)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Well organised, logical thinker, problem solver
• Strong work ethic, professional and personable
• Ability to cope with high pressure and rapidly changing priorities
