The Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawians for the following vacancies existing at Neno District Council.

JOB TITLE : PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTANT

GRADE : G/M5

DUTIES:
• Prepare Cash flow forecasts
• Provide on the job training to junior staff on financial accounting.
• Consolidate monthly returns of expenditure.
• Prepare expenditure estimates.
• Counter signing of documents.
• Attend to Audit queries.
• Assist with bank reconciliations.
• Any other relevant duties as assigned from time to time.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant must be serving Senior Accountants (Grade H /M6) regardless of experience or serving Accountants (Grade I/M7) with a minimum of four years experience.

COMPETENCIES

The post holder is responsible for ensuring that the various sections of the department are functional and that staff are well trained in the various accounting tools and systems. He/she should demonstrate the ability to enforce accounting... controls so as to minimize audit queries. He/ She must have good analytical and supervisory skills
