East Suffolk Counci l is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Housing Information and Governance team as a Housing Information Officer.

Your role

The Housing sector is going through a period of change, driven by emerging legislation and regulation intended to provide safe and decent homes for tenants and better services from landlords. These changes require improvements to the way we use information to make key decisions in our Housing Service, and we are expanding our Housing Information team to deliver a better service for our communities.

In this role you will lead on the management and analysis of data so that its ready for operational... delivery. You will maintain the computer systems, and support day-to-day service delivery as well as improvement projects across the Council. We are ambitious with our plans, which include the implementation of new ICT systems to improve our tenant’s experience as well as the efficiency and performance of the Housing service and back-office functions.

What You Will Need

Ideally you will have a background in Housing, and may have worked previously in building safety, repairs and maintenance or asset management. You should be comfortable working with data and have strong skills in Microsoft Excel. Previous experience with business intelligence or analytics software (eg SAP Business Objects) is desirable, but training will be provided to the successful applicant.

You will be confident talking to housing colleagues and using data to help them design programmes of work or respond to specific operational issues. You will be used to working to a high standard of accuracy, and occasionally you will need to deliver information support in short timescales. You will have great communication, presentation and report writing skills, as well as the ability to contribute to a continual improvement ethos that delivers improvements to the service.

If you think you have what it takes to be successful in this role, even if you don’t meet all of the essential requirements, please apply. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.
