Who are we looking for?

In order to increase our analytical capabilities, we’re looking for a Manager (Chapter Lead is the ING job title) Data Science . In this role you contribute as a manager and data scientist in order to realise our ambitions. By understanding our customer’s actions, behaviours and products you deliver high impact data-driven solutions . As a Chapter Lead Data Science :
• You identify new trends and technologies to refine and implement the analytics strategy together with fellow chapter leads
• You drive impact by identifying opportunities and enable data scientists to deliver data-driven solutions in different business domains
• You maximize the potential of your team , stimulate them to keep developing themselves and build psychological safety
• You embody our orange code in your professional manner: you take on activities and responsibilities and make them happen, you help others to be successful, and you are one step ahead in anticipating your colleagues and stakeholders.

Your competencies and experience
• A MSc or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or similar
• You have multiple years of proven experience and success in relevant roles in the field of Data Science
• You have k nowledge about the latest developments in the Data Science community (methods and tools) combined with the ability to decide which of these are most relevant to ING and translate them in into opportunities
• You have s trong knowledge of existing and emerging a nalytics products , open source, and cloud technologies :
Google Cloud Platform (Big Query, Dataproc), PySpark, Python...
• You have s uccessfully managed the end-to-end delivery data-driven solutions , including resourcing, budgeting, and prioritisation
• You are analytically strong and are very senior in accessing and solving problems
• You can display style flexibility to teams and adapt plan, approach and behaviour to the different needs and situations
• You have strong organisational sensitivity; ability to understand and take into account the underlying issues, opportunities and dynamics of an organisation
• You focus on delivery through collaboration, ability to bring people together to work towards the same purpose
• You have the w illingness to continuously learn : be open to feedback, develop on the technical and the interpersonal level
• You are f luent in written and spoken English. Although Dutch is a pre, it is not necessary
