Ministers are presently minded to provide further funding covering 1 April 2024 - 31 March 2025; however, this is indicative only and will be confirmed once the Criminal Justice budget has been set for the 2024-25 financial year.
Position Details
ASSIST is an accredited Independent Domestic Abuse Advocacy service which works in close partnership with Police Scotland, COPFS and other statutory and voluntary partner agencies to support the delivery of a pro-active, rapid, and stream-lined response to those affected by domestic abuse, and who are interacting with the criminal justice system. ASSIST uses risk assessment and safety planning processes to ensure the... client is at the centre of interventions.
The Advocacy Worker will provide a sensitive, pro-active short to medium term advocacy, support, and information service, primarily by telephone, to victims/survivors of domestic abuse who are referred to ASSIST, focussing on those most at risk.
The successful candidate will work closely with statutory and voluntary services to deliver a pro-active, rapid, and stream-lined response for those affected by domestic abuse; therefore, a commitment to partnership working and an understanding of the impact of Domestic Abuse on victims/survivors, children, families and communities is essential.
