Their portfolio consists of aquatic and recreational facilities, residential, community, institutional and larger scale urban... mixed-use projects.Our client is currently seeking an Architectural Technologist with 5+ years post-graduate working experience. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, capable of supporting junior staff on multiple projects, and has the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will work with their principal, senior team members, and the project teams to develop the projects throughout the design phases and produce and manage the production drawings and documentation, through the full design process or during a particular stage. This role will also include leading or supporting various design components or projects activities, spanning from early design to construction completion, assisting in contract admin and site reviews/visits.

JOB DUTIES
• Work closely with our design team, Partners, job captains, and others to support design development of projects as well as plan and prepare construction documents and support permit applications
• Push the boundaries of conventional design detailing with a deep understanding of the needs of the end user (i.e., consumers, tenants and the community)
• Resolve complex design and technical issues with senior team guidance and design team support
• Promote team members to develop in-house expertise and methodologies (technical and quality standards, etc.) to advance the group and the efficiency and effectiveness of our architectural team
• Build architectural BIM models, starting in Concept/Schematic Design and through all design and construction phases
• Coordinate models and drawings with the project team using cloud-based software
• Provide technical support to the designer, specifications, and contract administration team as required
• Implement practice goals and objectives through leadership, coaching, and mentoring of the architectural team members

REQUIREMENTS
• An Architectural Technology Diploma or Architecture Degree
• Experience working on projects in a variety of sectors – including mixed-use residential and institutional
• 5+ years of experience as an architectural technologist
• Proficiency in construction documentation including envelope detailing
• Advanced fluency with Revit
• Excellent understanding of the Vancouver Building Bylaw, BC Building Code and the Municipal Zoning Regulations
• Well-developed understanding of current building systems, and materials
• A passion for accuracy and organization
• A collaborative and flexible approach
• Experience as a team player and active contributor
• Excellent problem-solving skills and time management skills
• Eligible to work in Canada (must be registered with the AIBC or be eligible for registration in the province of British Columbia)
