Job Description

UMS Group is seeking a passionate and creative Software QA Analyst to join our Digital Solutions team in Manila. The Software QA Analyst will help develop and spearhead our quality assurance program and perform testing on our existing and new applications as we enhance and develop them. Our applications help utilities optimize value, manage risk, and predict system needs, driving... performance improvement and leadership in the global energy transition.

Role & Responsibilities:
• Perform functional (system, integration, regression) and non-functional (UI/UX, performance/load) testing
• Ensure functionality adheres to documented requirements/designs
• Analyze business requirements and understand the test acceptance criteria
• Create, maintain/update and execute test cases for all applications
• Create testing checklists/guides for others to use
• Document and maintain KPI data (utilizing Jira) for bugs found and resolution timeframes
• Identify, log, and track issues using Jira and help to build team discipline around logging work and following Jira processes
• Act as lead tester with accountability for application quality and performance
• Collaborate closely with developers, BI, and business team members
• Gain a strong understanding of application user workflows; create user stories and employ “user-based” thinking while performing testing
• Create a Quality Assurance process/program for the company based on standard testing practices and methodologies
• Help to delegate and coordinate testing activities when needed
• Find cases where automated testing makes sense and build automated test capability/test scripts
• Perform efficient testing across browsers, devices (i.e. mobile) and screen resolutions

Qualifications / Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar relevant field
• 3+ years of web application software testing experience with manual testing, automated testing, and performance testing
• Experience creating test cases and test scripts, preferably with Test Case Management tools
• A strong understanding of the full SDLC and Software Testing Lifecycle
• Strong troubleshooting abilities to narrow down errors, including an imaginative, creative mind related to testing and investigations
• Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Innate sense of ownership and accountability
• Fast learner with an interest in continuously learning
• Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate issues
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience / Qualifications:
• ISTQB Certification is a plus
• Experience with tools such as Selenium, Cypress, JMeter, loader.io

Work Environment:
• The workday is from 1 PM – 10 PM (Philippine Time)
• Remote/'Work from home' majority of the time, but space to work in the office is provided if preferred by employees
• May report in person once a week or less, and as needed for important meetings & corporate activities
• Ability to handle pressure and work overtime during peak project periods
