An exciting opportunity has arisen to join First Steps Community Psychology Service. We have 2 permanent posts (full time) and 12 month fixed term maternity leave cover posts. We are a successful and forward thinking Tier 2 early intervention service in Hackney that works with children and young people (aged 0 – 18) and their families.
We are looking for several motivated clinicians with qualifications in the area of either clinical/counselling psychology, child psychotherapy, systemic and family therapy or other equivalent training, who are interested in working within a CAMHS early intervention setting. The work will be a mix of individual work with children and families and whole school approach work and supporting our CAMHS single point of access.
One 12 month fixed term post is to work within out Quick Steps pathway working specifically with adolescents whose mental health is deteriorating to try and prevent the need to be stepped up to another service.

You will be responsible and accountable for the provision of an autonomous and accessible Child and Family Mental Health Service in Hackney. You will use specialist knowledge, skills and experience to offer a range of psychological interventions to children and adolescents and their families/carers in the community, presenting with mild to moderate emotional difficulties.
We offer a brief intervention of up to six sessions to families. You will also be part of an exciting schools project offering consultation and support to Primary Schools within the borough. There are also opportunities to be trained in and run evidenced based parenting groups. and to be involved in other community projects.
First steps is a team made up of clinicians from a wide variety of therapeutic trainings, including systemic and family therapists, Clinical and Counselling psychologists, Psychotherapists and Speech and language therapists. We are a friendly team with a strong values base promoting inclusion for both clients and staff and have a strong commitment to meeting the needs of the diverse community in which we are located. We would particularly welcome applications from practitioners with a fluency in Polish, Turkish, Urdu, Bengali, or Vietnamese.
