The Royal United Hospitals Bath Paediatric Psychology department is delighted to announce the opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join our team on a fixed term basis to cover a maternity leave. This is a diverse and varied role working in General Paediatrics.
The successful candidate will enjoy having a varied caseload and working in a diverse role using different psychological models and approaches. The presentations vary and may involve complex presentations requiring systemic work with MDT teams or families. However, this is balanced with less complex presentations which respond well to 1:1 brief CBT/ACT interventions.
The ideal candidate will be organised, autonomous and self-motivated and will enjoy the challenge of building new services and developing interventions for patient care. We welcome innovative and imaginative ideas, which work within a busy hospital environment.
The post-holder will be joining a small team in paediatric psychology including 3 other... psychologists, a trainee and a psychology assistant. There are also a number of other psychologists working across the trust and there are opportunities for learning and networking. We are committed to staff wellbeing and supporting each other and value peer support.
To deliver brief intervention psychology service a for patients under the care of General Paediatric at the RUH. The post holder will be responsible for assessing, formulating and delivering appropriate psychological interventions as appropriate.
Interventions will be targeted and efficient and may include 1:1 or group work. A successful group work model has already been established based on the DNA-V model and there is the potential to develop this further. There is also the opportunity to deliver indirect psychology support through teaching and consultation.
