0.8 WTE 8c Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Team, Wirral

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Clinical Psychologist within Wirral CAMHS 0-18 Service for 30 hours per week to play a leading role in developing further this thriving and comprehensive service. The current post holder is in the process of retiring.

The multi-disciplinary CAMHS Team consists of Psychiatrists, Psychotherapists... Mental Health Workers, Care Navigators and several Clinical Psychologists (including two at 8b). Within the wider Wirral CAMHS service there are Access, MHST, Urgent Support, LD, neuro developmental, ISF and ED Teams who are interlinked with the 0-18 Team. There are a further six Clinical Psychologists within these teams. Wirral CAMHS also work closely with social care and youth offending.

The role will consist of being Clinical Lead within the 0-18 CAMHS Service on Wirral. The post holder will be responsible alongside senior team members to contribute to the strategic development of the service to ensure clinical excellence. This will also include linking with other CAMHS lead clinicians across the Trust.

The role will consist of providing consultations, supervisions and training sessions to team members; the post holder will also act as the professional lead for the Clinical Psychology team. The role will also include undertaking assessments, formulating care plans and delivering therapeutic interventions for children and young people and their families with moderate to severe mental health needs. Research is encouraged and there is a strong network of support within the Trust. Equally, there are strong links with the local Clinical Psychology training programmes. It is desirable that the post holder hold an accredited supervising qualification and be able to take the lead on providing supervision and development within at least one therapeutic model for one day a week.

This is a substantive part time post
