Chronic Pain Clinical/Health/Counselling Psychologist Pay Rate: £40 per hour (assignment rate)

Location: Isle of Wight

Contract Type: 3-month contract

Duties
• Provide both individual and group based psychological therapies to individuals with complex pain, making a significant difference to the quality of life and wellbeing of these individuals
• Provide high quality clinical care to patients of the Chronic pain service
• Participating in both multidisciplinary assessments and individual psychological assessments
• Hold an individual caseload as well as contributing to the development and delivery of group-based pain management interventions
• Form part of the multidisciplinary team and will provide advice and consultation on psychological aspects of pain management to both patients and other clinicians
• Take an active part in audit, research and development of the service as well as contributing to development and training

Requirements Of The Chronic Pain Clinical/Health/Counselling Psychologists
• Clinical Psychologist with HCPC registration or will be at the end of training
• Recent experience working as a psychologist in the UK
• Highly motivated individuals to work within the service offering high quality, patient centred care to the island population
• Communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of patients and carers under their care, and to monitor progress as appropriate
• Doctoral level training in Clinical/ counselling/ health psychology or equivalent as accredited by the BPS
