Logistic and Facilities Manager required to: To oversee and manage the site wide logistics, security and facilities of a £40 million construction site project Liaising with the site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and security team to manage the receipt of and distribution of goods, plant, material and waste around the site to the required destination in a timely and efficient manner. Set tasks and manage the site logistics team to maximise productivity and ensure the smooth running of the site operations. Control the management of Health, Safety and Environmental (SHE) controls relating to all logistic and facility operations and associated activities Manage the maintenance and management of the site wide facilities, including effective communication with the clients wider Estate Management Team Control of general site security, the perimeter, access and egress to the site and general site facilities. Main responsibilities Updating and delivering the site induction for all new site... attendees Setting daily and weekly tasks for logistics, security and janitorial teams Coordinating and recording deliveries onto and off site and around the site, ensuring accurate and effective handling and storage of goods, plant, materials and waste, and communication and liaison with subcontractors and project team members Liaising with site teams and subcontractors to schedule and coordinate key activities where timing of logistics may impact one another and the effective running of the site Scheduling, coordinating and managing the efficient deployment of logistics resources to facilitate efficient site activities and services Checking and maintaining site setup and facilities e.g. temp buildings, security stores, offices, welfare, roads, tracks, fencing, gates, footpaths, signage etc Managing plant and equipment, including inspections, check lists and scheduling of routine and ad hoc maintenance and cleaning Overseeing all waste management site wide, including segregation, recycling, spoil etc Ordering consumable stock and controlling limited stock levels, incl PPE Overseeing site opening up and closing, site security, access and registration, managing Security Attendant and working closely with Document Controller to manage data in line with site wide policy and GDPR Liaising with HR to keep logistics team up to date with required training Monitor and record 5 day and rolling 24 hour weather forecast, plan, communicate and manage impacts on site facilities and logistics of abnormal weather related events. Coordinate and manage where required estate maintenance activities, ie grass cutting, road, tree, and fence maintenance etc Monitor and adapt site logistics to suit the changing site Oversee the decamp of the site logistics and facilities arrangements at the end of the project GENERAL To wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as issued and in line with site policy To be responsible for the observation of Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations within the working environment and to take personal responsibility for your own health & safety at work To undertake training when required and ideintfy and implement suitable training for your team when requried. To work additional time as can be reasonably required, in particular opening up and closing site, and provide additional holiday or leave cover to any member of your team Manage the leave and absence of your team, ensuring suitable cover is put in place. Manage resource, identify need for recruitment, recruit and appoint in accordance wiht HR policy Manage redundancy as required. To adhere to working hours guidelines as defined by contract of employment, custom and practice of the organisation and in accordance with UK employment law To undertake any other duties that may be reasonsably expected on an ad hoc basis. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & BEHAVIOUR Exemplary communication and person management skills Excellent organisation skills with high levels of attention to detail General knowledge of building materials and related disciplines Ability to be diplomatic with subcontractors, site operatives, management teams and visitors Organised and tidy minded To be honest, reliable and flexible Capable of undertaking some manual work if required Ability to solve problems with the use of various materials and methods WORKING HOURS 42.75 hours per week 07:15 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 07:15 to 16:00 Fridays, with a 1-hour unpaid break each day.
