Cure Kids was established by Rotary in 1971 as the Child Health Research Foundation, and since then they have invested more than $60 million in New Zealand research which has helped to shape and vastly improve the way children who live with serious diseases and health conditions are diagnosed and treated.

Cure Kids’ funding supports researchers across New Zealand whose work focuses on childhood cancers, inherited heart conditions, epilepsy, infectious diseases, cystic fibrosis, sudden unexpected death in infants (SUDI), stillbirth, burns as well as child and adolescent mental health – and many, many other areas of research.

They are the largest funder of child health research outside the government. and work hard to support the best research possible to make a measurable difference to the health and well-being of children in New Zealand.

Some More Information About The Role

As Finance Manager you will lead, develop and execute all Cure Kids’ (CK... financial accounting and reporting activities. Reporting to an awesome CEO, you will be a key business partner and the finance voice within the organisation. The Finance Manager is a vital role tasked with ensuring the wider business has the timely information required to mitigate risk and optimise revenue and impact for Cure Kids. This is a leadership role where you will have a team of 3 so the position requires a strong leader and a very capable accountant.

Key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
• Providing financial advice to the wider business and partnering with the CEO
• Preparation of Financial and Management Reports
• Leading the team and overseeing the transactional functions
• Budgeting & Forecasting
• Project Management, Support & Analysis
• Managing the governance and cashflow requirements for the investment portfolio

The role requires someone with strong commercial acumen who is passionate about building strategic working relationships whilst also being happy to get stuck into the detail when required.

So, Who Are You And What Is Your Profile

You will be a proven finance leader with experience running the full finance function for an organisation. You will ideally be CA/CPA qualified with strong leadership skills and proven experience doing a similar role in the past. A background in the 'not for profit' sector will also be a distinct advantage.

Key to your success is your ability to get stuck into the detail, you will need to be across the full finance function from transactional duties right up to Board reporting and partnering with the CEO. Above all, you will have a passion for the business, Cure Kids isn't just any business, it is an organisation with a purpose so they need someone who is passionate about what they do.

This role will be perfect for someone that enjoys the strategic side of core finance but is a doer and is happy working in the detail.
