Job Description
CHILDCARE SITE COORDINATOR
Classification: Support Exempt
Job Goal
To provide our students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become life-long learners and responsible citizens by:
Providing quality childcare for infants – Pre K at cost effective rates in a nurturing, safe environment using developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum.
Qualifications
• AA or BA in Child Development, AA or BA in Early Childhood Education, or Child Development
• Associate Credential (CDA) in Infants/Toddler and Preschool through an accredited program of study
• Two year’s experience in the operation/management of day care center, school childcare or similar business
• Knowledge of Childcare Licensure Requirements
• Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer and related software
• Satisfactory criminal background check

Duties And Responsibilities
Contributes toward a positive, professional working and learning environment by:
• Responding to all internal and external customers, as it relates to position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner
• Being responsible, reliable and punctual
• Maintaining courteous relationship with children, staff, parents, and treating others with respect
• Directing constructive criticism toward improving the district
• Exercising positive problem solving behavior and conflict resolution skills
• Adhering to the dress code appropriate for the site and job
• Sharing sensitive student and staff information on a need to know basis only
• Participating and coordinating children’s daily center experiences in a constructive and appropriate manner
• Creating and maintaining respectful and reciprocal relationships between the childcare program and the campus Early Childhood Education teacher and student interns if applicable
Contributes toward productive, efficient operation by:
• Planning, organizing and supervising the district childcare program at assigned site and during intersession camps
• Accepting responsibility for recommending and retaining quality employees
• Managing and assisting families with the registration process
• Providing public tours of childcare center when requested
• Maintaining files for children and DHS staff files with required documentation
• Completing district evaluations for staff on a yearly basis
• Providing support and direction for staff in the area of lesson planning and implementation of curriculum
• Maintaining communication with parents through newsletters, reminders, brochures, flyers, webpage
• Ordering, disbursing, and maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment for program
• Interacting with staff, parents, and children to resolve issues and concerns
• Maintaining the confidentiality of protected children and staff member information even
• after no longer employed
• Being flexible and performing other duties relating to general job function as assigned by supervisor
• Establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy center environment
• Attending all staff training sessions, meetings and programs
Contributes to maintaining a safe, risk-free working and learning environment by:
• Making the well being of students the fundamental value in all decision making
• Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships
• Accepting responsibility for student well being and safety while they are in employee’s care
• Being alert to and reporting the possibility of any substance use, child abuse, or dangerous situation based upon daily observations
• Operating and caring for school districts’ equipment properly
• Following district policies as outlined
• Performing all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed by supervisors
Continue Job Performance Enhancement By
• Obtaining a minimum of 18 contact hours of early childhood training within specific categories as specified by the Department of Health Services Bureau of Child Care Licensing on a yearly basis
• Maintaining CDA Credential requirements
• Participating, organizing, and/or conducting trainings or programs
• Maintaining a current CPR/First Aid Certification
• Maintaining a current IVP Fingerprint ClearanceCard
