About the role
We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Safety Advisor to develop and deliver dedicated safety program activities in Passenger Experience within Metro Trains Melbourne and to ensure application of the Safety Management System.

What makes up Passenger Experience? Our Passenger Experience team that you would support includes our Authorised Officers and Stations Staff, who are integral to keeping Melbourne moving.

This role is varied and diverse and day to day you will:
• Monitor safety inputs and outputs from the Passenger Experience teams
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance of legal obligations; OHS, rail, and energy, satisfy safety requirements
• Manage the coaching and development of managers in Passenger Experience in regards to safety and at HSR forums
• Attend to significant Metro Trains Melbourne Incidents as the on-call Investigator to commence incident investigation on behalf of the business as the subject matter expert
• Lead risk assessment activities

About You
You will:
• be a highly effective communicator with proven experience conducting risk assessments, audits and task observations within a dynamic Operations environment and/or a similar background
• Diploma level or above qualification in a Health, Safety or Environment related discipline and proven experience in these areas
• Extensive experience in managing and leading safety investigations
• Proven ability to manage many competing priorities
• Strong engagement ability to develop trust and strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• Self-driven, responsible individual who commits to continuous improvement in your work and quality outcomes.
