This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Lawyer to join a forward-thinking Local Authority, managing the Legal Services Unit on an operational basis. Our client is seeking a lawyer with a strong background in either property or planning law to undertake this role. Day to day responsibilities may include; * Acting as the Lead Advisor for the council in relation to either Planning or Property law * Leading and managing a small Legal Services team, ensuring that legal services are delivered in a timely, professional and client focused manner * Line managing and overseeing the work of the Council's Data Protection Officer * Acting as the Information Asset Manager for the Legal Service * Deputising for the Head of Legal and Democratic Services as and when required * Responsible for the... production and regular review of the Legal Services Business Plan The successful Legal Services Manager is required to hold up to date knowledge of legislation affecting the Council's business. They will also need to advise officers and members at the highest level on a wide range of topics requiring a good understanding of all service areas. Previous management experience is required.
