Your new role
• You will be responsible for providing high quality legal advice, assistance and representation to the Council on legal matters relating to one or more areas of law dealt with by the People team:
• Child protection, Adult care and safeguarding, Mental Capacity, Mental Health, Education (including SEN).
• You will comply with quality assurance procedures, service level agreements and performance management requirements in order to meet the expectations of the clients.
• You will contribute towards and encourage a culture of learning, knowledge sharing and excellence within Legal Services.
• For post holders working in contentious areas of law (including but not limited to Adults, Education, Child Care and Litigation) you will undertake advocacy at civil and criminal courts and at tribunals (eg SEN tribunals and Employment tribunal)

What You'll Need To Succeed
• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX in England... Wales
• Experience and knowledge of Childcare law
• Demonstrable experience of using case management systems and online resources to maximise efficiency and quality of advice.
• Demonstrable experience of providing legal advice in childcare law.
• Demonstrable experience of finding solutions to legal problems in order to achieve goals.
• Demonstrable experience of taking on new initiatives to develop and grow, and supporting colleagues to work together to develop solutions and avoiding blaming others when things go wrong.
• Demonstrable experience of coping well and remaining calm and professional under pressure and in difficult situations.
