We are currently... looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join our Mould Maintenance team, at Visy glass in Penrose, Auckland. This is a permanent full time role working a minimum of 40 hours per week with opportunities for over time. Reporting to the Mould Shop Supervisor your role is to ensure the integrity of the Company’s Glass Forming Mould Equipment by applying specialist CNC engineering skills. Your main responsibilities will be to operate the CNC Lathes, manual lathes and other machinery within the department, to ensure maximum quality for our Production needs. You will follow procedures, to perform repair and preventive maintenance on the lathes to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum. You will be conversant in all aspects of measuring equipment within the Department and apply engineering knowledge and skills to achieve best practice outputs in the Production of Glass containers. You will work to a high standard in meeting safety and occupational health demands in the workplace.

What you will bring to the team:

As our Mould Maintenance Toolmaker, you will hold a Certificate in Machine Tool technology or equivalent. You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience from a manufacturing environment, with CNC Programming, Setting and Operating preferably with GE Fanuc Control Systems, that is wanting to ‘step up’ with responsibilities after an initial on the job training period. You are someone who has a strong knowledge in reading and interpret Engineering Drawings and are conversant in all aspects of measuring equipment. You are self-motivated, someone that can work on their own and as part of a team. You have good written and communication skills and proficient computer skills along with the ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment.
