Job description:

Ventia have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Logistics Coordinator to work alongside the Telecoms team assigned to install the radio telescopes on the internationally acclaimed Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) Project.

This role will initially be based in Perth and will progress to a project-based role in the last quarter of 2023. The role will then become a Fly in fly out, working a 14 day on / 7 day off roster, with meals and accommodation provided. The project site is based in Western Australia, 800 kilometres north of Perth.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Warehouse Logistics Coordinator.

Main duties of the role will include:
• Ensure laydown areas are organised kept clean with stock levels maintained (SAP experience desirable)
• Critical inspection and receipt of materials using VPL procedures
• Timely coordination and delivery of materials accurately labelled, and all pick locations or bins located
• Inventory Control... which includes annual stocktakes and regular cycle counting
• Ensuring that work orders are processed in the timeframes that are required.
• Efficient planning of storage and locations of materials within the warehouse / yard
• Ensuring all personal actions are in line with the SH&E procedures and legislative requirements
• Contributing to the forward planning for events that may impact the warehouse
• Ensuring timely and appropriate communications through collaboratively working with the project team, consulting and communicating with the project team
• Coordinating and deliver items to site to ensure the sub-contractors can keep the daily work face moving forward

About you
• Logistics and distribution experience (telecommunications industry preferable)
• Good communication skills
• Strong attention to detail skills
• Strong numeracy and written skills
• Forklift licence
• MC Drivers Licence
• CV/Hiab licence
• Dogman/Riggers Ticket
• Use of computer-based stock management systems (SAP experience, desirable)

About the project
The Square Kilometre Array (SKA) project is an international effort supported by 16 countries to build the world’s largest radio telescopes, led by the SKAO.

Ventia has been awarded a significant part of the contract and is leveraging our telecommunications capabilities for this exciting project. Our scope includes the provision of power and fibre networks, and the design and commission of a Central Processing Facility (CPF) and Remote Processing Facilities (RPF) at the Australian site. The Electrician will be an integral link to the success of the constructability of critical communications assets.
