Economic Advisor – Hybrid (Dublin)

Here's what you'll be doing:
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team advising on high profile issues in all major sectors of the economy.
• Prepare business cases for major capital investments and programs in accordance with the Public Spending Code and Green Book.
• Advise government departments, agencies, and local authorities on key economic questions such as city centre vitality, consumer sentiment... and sector growth opportunities.
• Evaluate EU and national program and project funding allocations.
• Provide commentary to media and industry organizations.
• Develop and adapt economic models to suit specific client needs and to be aware of and apply the latest developments in economic thought leadership and literature.
• Manage and lead teams, and work collaboratively.
• Deliver complex economic output to senior stakeholders to inform critical decision making.
• Market economic services, write proposals, and develop new business opportunities.
• Manage commercial and contractual risk.
We are particularly interested in candidates with the following qualifications and experience:
• A degree-level qualification in economics or a related subject.
• Significant experience of applying economic analysis techniques and methods.
• Experience and/or qualifications in quantitative techniques/econometrics and the handling of large datasets.
• Ability to work across diverse projects, with other skill sets.
• An ability to explain complex economics clearly to non-economists and apply economic concepts and techniques to real-world situations.
• Experience of relevant statistical analysis tools e.g., Excel, R, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
• Proven experience of managing and leading teams, and an ability to work collaboratively.
• Experience working in a senior role with proven experience of delivering complex economic output to senior stakeholders to inform critical decision making.
• Ability to market economic services, write proposals, and to develop new business opportunities.
• Experience in managing commercial and contractual risk.
