The City of Ore City, Texas Police Department is accepting applications for one position of police officer. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, and must possess a Texas peace officer license issued by the TCOLE Applicants must have a stable work record and be able to pass an extensive background investigation. The applicant for police officer shall have at least one year of full-time law... enforcement experience as a peace officer in Texas, with at least a Basic peace officer certificate from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Duties include, but are not limited to patrol, prevention and suppression of crime, traffic law enforcement, motor vehicle crash investigation, answering calls for police service, criminal investigation, enforcement of city ordinances, state, and federal laws, report writing, arresting offenders, and testifying in court. 12 hour patrol shifts. 48 hour work week. 3 days off per week. Limited opportunities to work overtime as scheduled. Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave. Personal off-duty employment available in the area and permitted. Relaxed beard and tattoo policy.
