You will be working for a regional charity providing specialist support services to men, women and children across the whole of the black country. They do this through holistic trauma informed approaches to help promote independence and break the cycle of abuse.

They have had recent expansion and have been awarded additional contracts providing services such as: Domestic abuse support services, Rape and sexual abuse Services, Stalking services etc

Your new role

As a Domestic abuse support worker based in A&E within Walsall Manor hospital, you will be providing front line domestic abuse support at the point of crisis to both medical professionals identifying victims of DV and victims making disclosures. you will be required to make appropriate onward support and safeguarding referrals.

you will be providing a high quality service to victims of but not limited to Domestic violence, sexual abuse, Rape, child sexual exploitation, honour based violence and FGM Victims... who are accessing services with the accident and emergency department. You will provide initial advice and guidance on services available, conducting risk assessments and needs assessments and onward support planning, you will work closely with clinician training and encouraging them to identify victims, encouraging and managing disclosures.

What You'll Need To Succeed

You will need experience of working with a caseload of vulnerable clients groups, ideally someone who has worked with domestic abuse victims and there families. Experience of making safeguarding referrals and in d depth knowledge of safeguarding procedures. You need to be an empathetic and emotionally robust individual due to the nature of the abuse present. It will be a fast paced high risk environment so organisation is key.
