Laboratory Quality Technician (Automotive Industry) – Pretoria East

Shift Position

Automotive Component Manufacturing Company in Pretoria East is looking for an experienced Laboratory Quality Technician

Qualifications & Experience
• National Diploma in Manufacturing / Engineering / Chemical related qualification
• Experience in an Automotive Industry of 2 years minimum, with foam experience being an advantage
• Quality / Problem Solving Tools: Understanding of CORE tools (certified preferred),
• Experience on Hardness testing (Zwick Hardness Tester and TestExpert II software for hardness checking)
• Experience on 8-D Problem Solving Methodology/tools is preferred-(KT/5 whys/fishbone

Duties
• Compliance to Customer Specific Requirements
• Complete daily product audit
• Run “Red Rabbits”
• Perform Poke Yoke Audit(s).
• Perform Quality Alert Audit(s).
• Physical property testing of the product.
• Chemical testing: Rise profile testing/ trial foam tests.
• Quality... Control/design and analysis against specification
• Attend and review scrap items during meeting
• Complete and distribute Quality shift report.
• Follow non-conforming material procedure
• Follow up on layered process audit findings.
• Robot injection mould release agent trials inspection.
• Manual Mixing and Formulation analysts
• Report supplier defects to QE.
• 5S in the Quality office, Laboratory and Quarantine Cage.
• Replace seats/components at assembly plants
• Train backup Quality Tech(s) to carry out process in absence.
• Actively supports plant safety efforts.
• Engages in safe practices as well as follows and safety rules.
• Must be willing to report unsafe conditions, report unsafe acts, participate in safety / ergonomic committees when assigned, participating in safety kaizen events when assigned, participate in safety audits when assigned and participate in safety (peer to peer) observation feedback events.
• Attend required training
• Ensure SPC data is captured and monitored in Mini-Tab for compliance.
• Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the Senior Quality Engineer/Quality Manager
