This is an opportunity to assist in the delivery of traffic and transport planning tasks to meet budget, timeframe and quality targets on projects, meeting or exceeding client expectations and work towards attaining professional accreditation.

You will support a wide range of projects... including:

• integrated transport strategy development

• major transport infrastructure planning studies

• active and public transport planning

Person requirements include:

· A passion for the integration of transport and land use planning and development of sustainable solutions

· Two to five years’ experience working on planning or infrastructure investigations and reports for the private or public sector

· Understanding of the context of the planning, transport and infrastructure sectors in Queensland

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to learn

· A high level of organisational skills and attention to detail

· The ability to work autonomously, under pressure and meet deadlines

· Professional profile in the industry through active involvement in industry bodies/ associations, delivering presentations at industry events

· Excellent inter-personal skills which support your technical expertise

· Professional, dependable and the ability to build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.

Key duties include:

• Establishing relationships with new and existing clients through opportunities to provide transport planning advice to a range of projects

• Proactively undertake projects and/or specific project tasks to ensure project delivery to meet or exceed budget, achieve high quality, safety, timeframes and client expectations

• Contributing to the management of commercial aspects of projects

• Provide support to project teams members

• Contribute to a positive and efficient workplace culture aligned to company values

• Identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiencies

• Identify business opportunities with new and existing clients

• Deliver work to high technical standards and in compliance with industry best practice, standards, codes, guidelines and the PSA Business Management System

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Graduate Degree in Town Planning, Geography, or similar field

• Working towards professional accreditation & registration (e.g. Registered Planner)

• Good knowledge of commercial aspects of projects and technical options

• Experience in seeking and securing opportunities

• Early identification of issues and proactive resolution

• Good written and verbal communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally

• Ability to think in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner

• Experience of working in multi-disciplinary design teams
