The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is seeking an outstanding candidate to fill a newly created substantiation-track faculty position in the area of new propulsion including battery, hybrid, fuel cell and green propulsion technologies.

The University places emphasis on developing new engineering design and better scientific understanding related to green aviation. Applicants should have a PhD in aerospace/aeronautical engineering or related engineering field. Candidates with expertise in the development and application of new propulsion technologies, including battery, fuel cell and hybrid powered aircraft and flight vehicles are particularly encouraged to apply. In addition, outstanding candidates across all areas within aerospace engineering will be considered. Successful appointee will be expected to establish an externally funded research program as well as contribute fully to both undergraduate and graduate teaching across the Department. The appointment will... be based in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace engineering which possesses world-leading expertise in aeroacoustics, materials, manufacturing, and energy areas. The appointee will have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the University with access to worldclass facilities. To further complement the aerospace program, a campus-wide faculty recruiting campaign in multiple areas directly related to aerospace engineering is ongoing.

Appointments at all ranks (Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor) will be considered. Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including medical and dental benefits, annual leave and housing will be provided where applicable. Appointment for Professor will be on substantive basis. Appointment for Assistant/Associate Professor will normally be on a three-year contract. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
