What Will You Achieve

Your expertise in the manufacturing domain will help Pfizer with the operations required for the assembly and packaging of finished goods. You will manage product finishing scheduling, setting up, operating, maintaining, and adjusting processes or packaging equipment.

As part of technical operations, you will be developing and applying your knowledge of procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment. Your receptiveness to new ideas will enhance the team's ability to achieve goals and targets. You will follow standard procedures to complete tasks and identify process issues or problems that involve direct application of your skills and knowledge. You will be relied upon to maximize quality and efficiency, completing batch records and associated documentation, and working in an integrated computerized manufacturing environment.

How Will You Achieve It
• The Packaging Engineering Technician will be required to:
• set-up, operate, change-over, maintain, and basic troubleshoot Packaging equipment used in Injectable Packaging.
• The Packaging Engineering Technician will monitor, evaluate and adjust processes or equipment to maximize quality and efficiency, and make some minor repairs as required.
• The Packaging Engineering Technician will be responsible for completion of batch records, associated documentation Work Center Performance Monitoring (WPM) and SAP entries.
• The Packaging Engineering Technician will be responsible for helping to train other Packaging Engineering Technician, Line Coordinators and Inspection Operator.
• Additional responsibilities may include running the lines, coordinate startups and clearances.
• The Packaging Engineering Technician will coordinate with maintenance to complete repairs and develop solutions to mechanical hindrances.
• The Packaging Engineering Technician will provide support to the Packaging Technicians, Production Specialist, Leads and Plant Professionals for new equipment, and upgrades to existing equipment.
• The Packaging Engineering Technician will need to effectively communicate with other line colleagues and support personnel.
• The Packaging Engineering Technician will ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with applicable safety guidelines, as well as appropriate processing standards, SOP's such as FDA's current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
• High school diploma / general education degree (GED)
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years as a Packaging Technician or 4-year engineering degree. *
• Language Skills: Good oral and written communication skills
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate percentages as well as multiplication and division
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to analyze and troubleshoot automated equipment and processes
• Physical Demands: Repetitive bending, lifting, and twisting as well as standing for extended periods of time.
• Work Environment: Colleague is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The light level in the work environment is lowered to accommodate inspection processes. Use eye protection is required. Math and reading skills required for SOP, GMP and Batch Record comprehension. Ability to contribute to department success in a team environment and perform tasks at a productive level under demanding conditions is mandatory. Must be self-motivated and willing to learn new and changing responsibilities. Requires a demonstrated ability to self-direct daily activities to meet production schedule.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

This position supports a 24x7x365 operation. Night Shift: This position will align work schedule to support a 6pm to 6am team with a rotating 5-5-4 schedule. This schedule provides 2 consecutive weekends unscheduled followed by 2 scheduled weekends. Holiday and overtime may be required to meet business needs.
