The Opportunity

The Treasury Management (“TM”) team forms part of the Overlays function which sits within the Investment Group. TM has primary responsibility for the management of liquidity risk across the Fund along with managing the Fund’s at-call liquidity resources including invested cash portfolios.

The team is responsible for implementing and overseeing key treasury and balance sheet activities:
• Liquidity – Manage the Fund’s liquid assets to optimise the Agency’s liquidity position, whilst ensuring external obligations to counterparties can be met at all times.
• Balance sheet management – Identify balance sheet efficiencies and drive value creation through improved risk/return trade-off decisions.
• Risk management – Understand, manage and mitigate risks across liquidity, credit & market risk, operational, legal and regulatory risks.
• Invested Cash portfolio – Manage the Fund’s cash portfolios in domestic and global cash markets, investing in short term/money market fixed... income products issued by sovereign and high-quality financial issuers.

Reporting to the Head of Treasury, this role will provide outstanding opportunities to gain experience to a wide range of disciplines covering financial markets, portfolio management, hedging and risk management.

Some Responsibilities
• Ensure best practice in treasury activities through industry collaboration and maintaining dialogue with peer organisations.
• Assist in the development of relevant systems for the TM function to improve the quality of information used for decision making, risk management and portfolio reporting.
• Build internal relationships: act as a conduit for TM activities outside of the investment team and build strong working relationships across the organisation, specifically investment compliance and portfolio operations.
• Maintain financial market best practice, stay up to date with market developments and the economic environment, along with financial instrument pricing across the major asset classes.

About You

We're looking for someone who is able to provide commercial insights, build and develop financial models and analyse data to assist in the investment decision making process and support liquidity and balance sheet management.

Our preferred candidate will be highly numerate with prior experience in the financial services industry and hold relevant undergraduate qualifications. The ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast- paced environment with a high level of professionalism will be crucial to this role.

Postgraduate qualifications and/or CFA designation (or studying towards) will be viewed favourably although not essential
