Mine Engineer II - Underground

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mine Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction, operation, and maintenance of mining projects. The candidate will work closely with other mining professionals, including geologists, metallurgists, and operations personnel to ensure the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of our mines.

Responsibilities
• Design and plan mining operations, including the selection of mining methods, equipment, and infrastructure
• Conduct geological assessments to determine the location, quality, and quantity of mineral deposits
• Develop mine plans and schedules to maximize the extraction of mineral resources while minimizing environmental impact
• Work closely with operations personnel to ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and financial analyses for mining projects
• Supervise mining operations and provide technical support to ensure efficient and effective operation of the mine
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of mining equipment and processes and recommend improvements where necessary
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, local communities, and suppliers

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Mining or Geological Engineering and 3 years of related experience in Engineering; OR
• Master's degree in Mining or Geological Engineering and 2 years of related experience in Engineering
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of Mining Engineering
• Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid
• Knowledge of one-plus (1+) Underground Mining method (competent to explain to others the requirements of the mining method familiar to the incumbent and how it differs generally from other mining methods)
