The O pportunity

The Research & Development area in Worldline is a small team of 5 people working on international research projects in cutting-edge technologies and in collaboration with the most renowned European companies, research centres and universities.

Our R&D projects are addressing societal challenges in different sectors, such as healthcare, transportation, retail, media or esports, and they do so by applying the most advanced technological solutions in cloud, edge, IoT, blockchain, AI, or extended reality.

As technical lead of the Research & Development area you will manage a team of 2-3 developers and will define the architecture and coordinate the technological solutions adopted in these projects in collaboration with the international teams from our partners.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise European R&D projects at a technological level.
• Contribute to define the technical approach in the preparation of R&D proposals.
• Contribute to technical publications.
• Ensure coherence between the objectives of the projects and the strategic plans of the company.
• Definition and design of the general technical architecture of complex systems.
• Analyse and lead the design, coding, programming and integration activities of the R&D projects, based on the general objectives and knowledge of the general architecture of the product or solution.
• Identify internal and external resource needs and manage assigned resources.
• Manage the daily activities of cross-functional project teams and ensure compliance with the project plan.
• Be a reference to the team and add value from technological perspective, providing guidance and mentoring to staff members with less experience.
• Attend regular meetings with international partners involved in R&D projects to define and identify project requirements.

Who Are We Looking For

Skills we can’t do without :
• Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably computer science or IT related field.
• Demonstrable experience in IT project management.
• Proven experience as a full-stack software engineer.
• Communication skills to defend roadmaps and technological solutions.
• Ability to lead and create an environment that motivates people to work as a team.

Additional Skills to shine :
• Experience in collaborative European R&D projects (H, Horizon Europe).
• Experience in conflict management and resolution in a hybrid, international and multifunctional environment.
• Experience in the field of technologies applied to healthcare and well-being.
• Experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
• Experience in blockchain technologies.
• Agile software development methodologies.

Non-technical skills :
• Willingness to cooperate in international, agile teams
• Team-player

Language Knowledge :

English at conversational level (mandatory)
