An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Evelina Medicine and Neonatology directorate for a permanent, part-time Band 4 Medical Secretary working across all four services, General Paediatrics, Renal, Bladder and Immunology/Infectious Diseases in the Evelina in order to help support secretarial and administrative tasks and to also help cross cover for the medical secretary team if needed. This is an exciting and challenging role in which the post holder would have an opportunity to make a positive impact on patient experience within the Trust.

As this is a part time position working 24 hours per week we would preferably like cover for the majority of the work days, however we can offer flexible working hours to the right candidate.

The successful candidate will provide a wide range of administrative support to the multi-disciplinary clinical team. This will include answering patient queries via phone or email, completing clinic letters, liaising and building good relationships... with the MDT management of referrals and supporting the management team with PTL validation.

The post holder will be be confident using computer systems, have excellent organisation and typing skills and be able to work efficiently, both within a team and independently. They must be a clear communicator with excellent customer care skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with a wide range of people. They will have a mature attitude, excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail with a flexible, can-do attitude.

The role will involve working with sensitive information so the post holder will be expected to maintain the Trust’s standards and policies at all times. Previous NHS and secretarial experience is desired, but not essential.
