About the project/work tasks : The position as researcher is part of Work Package II – From variant to function, and the aim is to characterize the pathogenicity of gene variants identified in diabetes that can be used for improved diagnosis and more precise treatment
Qualifications and personal qualities:
The applicant must hold a relevant Norwegian PhD or equivalent doctoral degree The successful applicant must have experience with functional analyses of GWAS data, adipose tissue biology (white, beige and brown adipocytes), genetic manipulation of adipocytes (including CRISPR-Cas9), subcloning, isolation of nucleic acids and proteins from cells, qPCR, Chip/Chip-seq, ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, Seahorse, Western blotting, luciferase-assays, and handling of radioactive materials The applicant must be experienced in counselling, teaching, writing manuscripts and preferentially also grant applications Personal skills, including abilities to work independently and cooperate within a research... group will be evaluated The applicant must be motivated and responsible, and also have a great work capacity and enthusiasm for research The candidate must be fluent in written and oral English and Norwegian Experience with international collaboration is an advantage

A good and challenging work environment in research front of diabetes Salary NOK 593 500 (code 1109, pay grade 64), specialist NOK 615 000 (code 1109, pay grade 66) gross p.a. for a fulltime position. In the case of a highly qualified applicant, a higher salary may be considered. Enrolment in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund Good welfare benefits
