We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Content and Communications Manager (Levelling Up). You will work with an inspiring and dynamic team here at Historic England to manage the development, delivery and promotion of engaging and accessible content for the Levelling Up Places Service.
This role will showcase the positive outcomes from the support given by the service, demonstrating the impact of the investment and Historic England’s role. It will also promote the service to potential service users (funded councils and organisations who received Levelling Up Fund grants) and stakeholders to help the recipients access the resources they need.
In this key role you will work in closely with colleagues from within Public Engagement and across the programme and partner Arm's Length Bodies, you will help... ensure that key audiences have the tools, knowledge and inspiration they need to gain knowledge, access and see the positive impact of the programme overall.
What you will be doing
• We need you to join us and work with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport’s other Arm’s Length Bodies such as the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Sport England, so that messages, content and activities are aligned in an effective way
• Ensure all content is conceived, created and delivered in line with the Historic England Content strategy.
• You will have the opportunity to work with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport’s other Arm’s Length Bodies to create and confirm a collective engagement plan for the Levelling Up Places Service.
• You will manage all Levelling Up Places-related content on Historic England’s public channels, ensuring there is an audience-led approach to all outputs.
• You will be required to manage contact with agencies, creative suppliers, contractors and the Historic England Creative Studio to help deliver content in a timely and efficient manner and ensure the quality and brand compliance of creative and content
• Working closely with the Content team to develop and deliver content and communications plans across owned, earned and paid online channels, in order to demonstrate the benefits and value of the services in place
• Aiding the Levelling Up Place Advice Manager in scoping the online platform/hub to impart knowledge and good practice and achieve consistency in monitoring and reporting.
• Working closely with the wider team of Levelling Up Place Advisors and Levelling Up Place Co-ordinators to identify success stories that will make engaging and informative content, news stories or MP visits
What we are looking for
• An experienced content/communications manager and producer, with an appreciation of what makes engaging content
• Experienced in developing, creating and managing a wide range of content including video, data visualisations, case studies, blogs, email, web and social media content
• Significant experience of working at a management level in content or communications
• Experience of influencing and collaborating with a wide range of partners internally and externally
• Experience of working with the media and/or drafting media materials, including press releases
