The Legal Practice Council (LPC) is currently embarking on a process to fill a vacant position in the National Office, Gauteng, Limpopo, Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga, North West, Free State, Western Cape and Kwa-Zulu Natal Provincial Offices.
Minimum Requirements:
• Matric/Grade 12 Certificate;
• Law Degree;
• 4 years’ experience in Paralegal Services; Knowledge of Legal Practice Act, No 28 of 2014;
• Section 109 Regulations;
• Code of Conduct for all Legal Practitioners and Juristic Entities;
• All aspects of law e.g., Road Accident Fund Act, Criminal Procedure Act, Labour Law;
• Rules of the LPC;
• Court procedure and law of evidence; Financial principles.

Key... Responsibilities
• Assess complaints received by the National Office;
• Capture and update all complaints received via email, walk-ins and telephone;
• Gather and access all relevant information and documentation to evaluate the complaint;
• Identify any additional information relating to the complaint;
• Evaluate the complaint;
• Refer first time complaints to the provinces;
• Prepare memo identifying problems and solutions;
• Draft letters of response;
• Dismissal of complaints, prepare memo until such time as the appeal tribunal is operational;
• Prepare and update complaints and walk-in register;
• Follow-up and monitor referred complaints;
• Respond and acknowledge complaints received and referred to province;
• Identify complaint pattern;
• Attend to walk-in clients relating to complaints;
• Ensure that all walk-in client information is captured on the walk-in register from other departments;
• Prepare and update the judiciary reports;
• Monitor and report on the outcome of judiciary referral matter;
• Alert Senior Manager of delays in judiciary matters;
• Prepare and update the litigation reports;
• Assess and notify provinces of matters that need updates;
• Assist in preparing reports for DOC meetings;
• Alert Senior Manager of delays in reporting;
• Attend to telephonic enquiries from the public and legal practitioners;
• Advise public and members on complaints;
• Attend to consultations with the public and legal practitioners;
• Advise legal practitioners on current rulings and guidelines
