The Sr. Analyst, Regulatory Affairs is responsible for obtaining and maintaining federal/state/territory registrations of Scotts products. This individual will develop registration strategies in order to meet the timing needs of the business. This individual leverages internal and... external relationships to influence outcomes to benefit Scotts business. In addition, this position will proactively identify regulatory issues that will impact our business.
What you will do in this role:
• Participate in team meetings and support new product launches or product changes.
• Independently prepare and submit product applications and/or registrations along with required regulatory maintenance activities (new registrations, amendments, notifications, etc.).
• Review and approve labels and labeling in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Independently develop registration strategies intended to support execution of the business plan.
• Independently respond to requests and other correspondence from regulatory agencies
• Keep current on regulatory requirements through self study/attendance at conferences/training seminars.
• Independently interact and negotiate with appropriate regulatory authorities on registration issues relevant to the business.
• Monitor government regulatory activities and represent Scotts through an established network of external resources via leadership in appropriate external organizations.
• Develop and champion strategic plans with key external/internal stakeholders to ensure Scotts’ freedom to operate.
• Represent non-confidential company interests externally.
What you will need to be successful:
• Detail oriented to ensure alignment and execution of business strategies
• Ability to interpret regulations and government negotiating
• Creative problem solving skills
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment where success depends on deep internal and external collaborations.
• Ability to operate effectively through ambiguity, proactively engaging R&D and cross functional resources.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven success with building strategic internal work relationships
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Possess Intellectual curiosity
• Bachelor degree in science, government affairs, or technical disciplines
• 5 or more years of relevant experience which may include government affairs, environmental science, product development, plant sciences, toxicology, etc.
